Star Wars Battlefront III: not coming soon to the PC

We already know that there are Clone Wars games coming to the Wii and DS, but yesterday Kotaku posted a link to a short-lived Amazon.com listing for Star Wars Battlefront III. That isn't much of a surprise since the game has long been rumored to be in production:

Quote:
Retailer Amazon has listed tentative dates and platforms for Star Wars Battlefront III, long rumored to be in development at Free Radical, developers of Haze and Timesplitters. While we've been under the impression that the UK based dev was hard at work we didn't know how hard at work they are. According to Amazon, Battlefront III is coming to everything — Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, DS, PSP, PlayStation 2. OK, not everything, since it doesn't list a PC version, but if these listings are accurate, anyone and everyone will have access to a version of the game come March 2009. We await more news at E3 next week.
The listing noted that the game was coming to the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, DS, PSP, PlayStation 2. Pretty much every viable gaming platform.

Except for the PC.

While everything is still in the rumor phase, some part of me believes that when the dust settles the PC will once again be left out of LucasArts plans.

What do you think?

What? Nobody got a screenshot?
EDIT: Here is one http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/d...BS/swbf3ss.jpg

*sigh* According to Haden Blackman LucasArts are big believers in PC. Right? I mean, the previous two Battlefront games were released for PC. Surely they won't drop support for PC with BF3. [/sarcasm] Oh well. I wonder when LucasArts is going to officially announce what Free Radical is working on? According to LucasArts PR director Margaret Grohne, LucasArts won't be announcing any new games at E3.

It appears the PC is dead in LA's eyes.

As a PC gamer (call me an old-fashioned museum piece if you will ), LucasArts is increasingly dead in my eyes.

I still haven't bought Battlefront 2, but that was largely due to issues I seem to remember there being for a while after its release. My interest in it had waned by the time I recall those issues being resolved.

The only thing that LA could do to make me consider buying a console (I just don't play console games any more, nothing against the tech) would be to release the game of my dreams, AKA the "Star Wars total immersion" FPS/3PS/RPG/co-op ultimate mega-hybrid. I hope such a thing is made in my lifetime, 'cos I want to live Star Wars in a game. <3

Where once we were getting KOTOR series, Jedi Knight Series, and X-Wing series now LA is releasing games, that seem to me anyway, much more limited and of poorer quality.

I guess it remains to be seen how TFU will pan out. But with each report it seems more and more disappointing.
