Talking

*wanders in*

Hey all, LONG time...

SO I was talking to someone about the free buffet we had in work today, which reminded me of an old JK2 player called 'Buffeh'. Led to me looking up some old JK2 highlight vids on youtube then was reminded of Echobase.

Total nostalgia trip, a lot of fun memories of hanging around here...

I've been playing Left for Dead 2 recently, but still hanker for the old days of CTF in JK2.

Hope everyone is doing well and Merry Christmas to all.

Hope all is well these days ... still think about you and what you had to endure and it pains me.

I did it.... After nearly a decade, I have gotten Dark Forces to run on a modern computer. It was not easy to accomplish and DOSBox occasionally acts up with the frame rate, but it's so wonderful to be playing again.

Time flies. Can't believe I posted that last post in this thread a year and a half ago. I was one of the younger members here and now I'm going on my fourth year teaching and am approaching my first year wedding anniversary. That makes you guys all geezers, right?

Maybe you should have just grabbed it on Steam on one of those sales and played it without any hassles ... ?

Also enjoyed Knights of the Old Republic on the iPad recently - had just completed 'The Run' again - Dark Forces, JK, MotS, JKII and Jedi Academy ... and was mostly through KotOR when the iPad version landed. Good fun.

Also replayed some of Battlefront II for PSP ... and was reminded of just how much it sucks playing shooters on the PSP.

Oh - and happy anniversary! Time does fly! Yeah, we are approaching 21st anniversary, with our kids 15 and 16. Older son will be spending July in Europe with American Music Abroad.

Congrats, Mike!

After my DF run, I'll take on JK, MotS, JO, and JA. As for RPGing on the iPad, I promised myself I'd finish Baldur's Gate before getting KotOR. Glad to hear it's a solid port of a console/PC game though!

I miss the days of good Star Wars games and the communities that went with them. It's nice to know that, even now we're all so old :P, people still stop by here every so often.

Edit: My god, I've only just realised this place was started a long time ago, in a forum far, far away...

Happy 10.5 years, guys.

I still pop in around here, just because I still love it. Even if people only post very occasionally, it seems that most of us still like to check in.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

It might not be SW, but it's an epic space saga made by the guys' who made KotOR. Have you all played Mass Effect yet? I just beat the third game about a month ago. It took so long because after six years, my first X360 finally got the red ring of death. I had to wait before getting another X360 and once I did, I realized I'd have to play the first two games again to import my Commander Shepard into the conclusion of the trilogy. I played with the extended cut content. Apparently the original ending sucked and turned people off. I had no real issues with the game with the extra content though. I think it's on PS3 and PC as well so get playing it if you guys haven't yet!

Also, here's an early Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays to you all! This past weekend my wife and I received the greatest Christmas gift we could hope for. Turns out she's pregnant! We just bought a house and moved in at the end of summer. Everything is falling into place for us. We're beyond ecstatic

I have played, not the hugest fan of Mass Effect - I still mark KotOR as the last great Bioware game, with Dragon Age coming in with a pretty strong showing and everything else being more style than substance.

Super news! Congrats on the pregnancy and new house! Very exciting!

You played Mass Effect as in Mass Effect 1 or Mass Effect the whole series? I think Mass Effect 2 was my favorite of the bunch as far as character interaction, gameplay, and galaxy exploration goes. I hated the vehicular combat in the first game and I hated the galaxy map in the third game. But they were not gamebreaking. The story/characters are what it's all about for me and I loved most of them. The side quests in the first game (or lack of them) certainly made the game ridiculously short, but the others lasted a good 40ish hours.

First ultrasound is scheduled for the day after Christmas!
